MAATEE&SONS Hand-Finished Balmacaan Coat: The Most Fearsome Yet

A balmacaan coat made with cotton double-face fabric, offered every season.

To make double-face fabric, two layers of fabric joined by connecting threads are carefully split along the edges with a circular blade called a slicer. The split edges are then sewn together by hand with a blind stitch.

Because areas that would normally consist of several layers of fabric are made from a single layer, the coat is exceptionally lightweight.

What’s truly remarkable about this coat is its construction. The sleeves, collar, pockets,

and lining—in fact, every seam—is sewn by hand so that no stitches are visible.

The only part that seems to be machine-sewn is the piping on the pockets.

This extraordinary coat is almost entirely handmade—honestly, it’s incredible. There are no visible seams on the outside.

And because it’s made with a double-face construction, it’s wonderfully lightweight!

It comes in two colors, Oyster White and Black, and we’ve stocked every size in both.

This hand-finished balmacaan coat is, without a doubt, our top recommendation among all the MAATEE balmacaan coats we’ve carried.

We hope you’ll give it a try.
