MAATEE&SONS AW25 1st DELIVERY ULTIMATE BLACK SUIT

We have received the 2025AW season delivery from MAATEE&SONS.

This is the arrival of MAATEE's highly recommended, fully canvassed black suit set, which has been a favorite since its first release.

This is a series using full horsehair canvas, which Mr. Matsumura is particularly focused on among the tailoring MAATEE continues to offer.

Surprisingly, this is the first time black has been introduced. The fabric is a 100% wool plain weave made in Bishu.Because it is a simple black plain weave, we pay particular attention to the yarn and weaving.

We use two 60-count worsted yarns twisted together and then twist two of those together to create the yarn used for the plain weave. Numerically, this is 4/60.

Because it uses four-ply yarn, the fabric has some body, but it is soft, smooth, and extremely comfortable to wear, making it awonderful fabric that rivals even FOX BROTHERS of the UK.

A black suit set is not only suitable for business but also for weddings, funerals, and any other occasion, making it an item every man should definitely own at least one of.

For those who have been thinking of getting a signature suit someday, we wholeheartedly recommend it.

In tailoring, the construction inside that cannot be seen from the outside is very important, and the difference appears after wearing it for many years.

Generally, the fusible interlining used in jackets gradually separates from the fabric and becomes worn out, but the horsehair canvas used here is the material used in so-called bespoke suits. It adapts to your body with repeated wear and is less likely to lose its shape even after many years of wear.

Furthermore, as it is fully canvassed, it features a very time-consuming and labor-intensive construction for the front panels (down to the hem), lapels, collar, shoulders, and sleeves.

MAATEE's fully canvassed jacket is tailored by a historic domestic tailor shop, so despite being ready-made, it has a level of construction comparable to bespoke.

Wide lapels and a classic gorge line with a pronounced slant.
Three buttons with a stepped buttonhole. But it's not American-style; it has a British balance.
The chest box pocket button is a hand-sewn Glicken buttonhole.
Only the two middle buttons are made with a buttonhole for sleeve adjustments. And this buttonhole is also Glicken.
The collar is made with a collar cross and a beard-style fold-back top collar. This is a detail that serves as proof of a high-end bespoke suit, designed so that the collar size can be adjusted.
Stem stitching under the flower hole on the lapel underside.
A unique pocket construction where the inner pocket area is surrounded by the outer fabric.
The lining sleeves are hand-sewn by artisans to prevent sweat from seeping through.

The final pressing is also done entirely by hand with an iron.
