Our highly anticipated MAATEE&SONS 24AW collection has arrived, as it does every season.

The first delivery includes two shirt styles: CHARLES, the casual style we continue to carry, and RYAN, the dress style.

I’m sure many shops have picked up the Rainbow Ryan, but the model we highly recommend is the Ryan made in Italy. Its name is “SUPER RYAN” lol.

At ¥100,000 before tax, it’s an exceptionally luxurious shirt. What deserves your attention is the painstaking construction, with eight stages of production done by hand.

Let’s take a look at all eight.

① First, the collar. The entire seam joining the collar stand to the body is hand-sewn.

②, ③ The armholes and yoke are also joined entirely by hand.

The stitching on the parts that aren’t hand-sewn is impressive, too.

An ultra-narrow double-fold hem, stitched with exceptionally fine needlework

The fabric is 200/2 DAVID&JOHN ANDERSON. The purplish blue color and micro-check pattern are both superb.

It’s incredibly difficult to sew fabric this fine in the first place, so the skill it takes to stitch it this beautifully is simply astounding.

The “SUPER RYAN” is the result of combining this with MAATEE’s dress-shirt pattern.

Considering the level of detail and the current exchange rate, ¥100,000 doesn’t seem expensive at all. If they make it again, I doubt they’ll be able to offer it at this price.

Wear it casually on its own, washed and relaxed, with the buttons undone and sleeves rolled up—or pair it with a full-on dress outfit and a sette pieghe tie. It’s an outstanding shirt either way.
