An Underrated Gem: MAATEE ROOM PANTS
As fall and winter items gradually arrive, many of you are probably starting to browse and pick out your favorites.
We’ve had a steady stream of new arrivals from MAATEE&SONS, a brand we get a lot of inquiries about, including denim and baker pants. And today, this item quietly made its way into the shop.

These sweatpants are the first item of their kind from the brand.
Designer Matsumura created them toward the end of summer for relaxing at home or wearing around the neighborhood.
Made with GIZA cotton, the fabric is a lightweight loopback jersey produced by deliberately using open-end spun yarn despite the high-quality raw material. The yarn on the inside is lightly twisted, giving the fabric a dry, airy feel.
The waist can be cinched with a drawcord, so you can size up and still wear them comfortably.

The back pocket has a concealed zipper, a practical detail designed for neighborhood wear so your wallet or keys won’t fall out.
You don’t often see concealed zippers paired with sweatpants, do you?
And if you look closely, there’s a little “tail” (loop) at the center of the back (laughs).

Sweatpants tend to have a casual feel, and while these room pants are designed for wearing at home or around the neighborhood, details like the zippered back pocket and the use of premium materials make them a highly refined piece that looks just as good with leather shoes.
It seems only a very small number of stores will carry them, so please get in touch if you’re interested.
